Farmington resident spent a decade in NFL

According to today’s New Britain Herald, a longtime Farmington resident and former National Football League player Tebucky Jones is in the running for head football coach at New Britain High School.

Jones, who grew up in New Britain and led the Golden Hurricanes for his high school years, went on to play for Syracuse University before spending a decade in the NFL with the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints.

Former New Britain coach Paul Morrell vacated the position after the fall season. The new head coach will be named at the New Britain Board of Education meeting Monday night.
