Viewfinder: McLovins at Blue Back Square
This week's "A Little Wednesday Night Music," at West Hartford's Blue Black Square, featured local CT hit-band The McLovins.
The McLovins, a rock-jam trio composed of drummer Jake Huffman of Granby, bassist Jason Ott of Simsbury, and guitarist Jeff Howard of Canton, played at West Hartford's Blue Black Square as part of the "A Little Wednesday Night Music" series.
Rolling Stone Magazine recently called the McLovins "a trio of Connecticut kids who have managed to harness the musical ferocity of Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland before being able to legally drive a car."
The McLovins will play at the "Gathering of the Vibes" festival in Bridgeport, Conn. this weekend.
They also play at Mills Pond Recreation Center in Canton Aug. 4.

These kids are incredilbe musicicans. I took my kid to watch them last night and was totally blown away. I have played bass for a while, and can appreciate the complexity of what these kids do. If you ever get a chance to see them...do it now as they are going places.
