Edward Giannaros for ZBA statement:

Hello, my name is Edward Giannaros and I am running for a third term on the Zoning Board of Appeals.  It has been my pleasure to serve on the ZBA for 8 years with 5 of those years as Chairman.  I am currently a Senior Financial Consultant/Analyst and Applications Developer at The Travelers.

During my tenure on the Zoning Board of Appeals, I’ve listened carefully to citizens who have come before the board.  I believe everyone deserves to be treated fairly with respect and given full consideration.

When I began serving my first term on the ZBA, I was surprised to learn that the board did not have any written by-laws.  My first order of business was to create by-laws so that the public would understand the process involved in appealing to the board and everyone would have an even playing field.  I’m proud to say that I spearheaded the effort to write the by-laws in a bi-partisan fashion.  I believe in working together with everyone on the board is best for our community and our fellow citizens.

I am a life-long resident of Farmington and have graduated from Farmington High School.  After earning a Masters in Business Administration, I chose to stay in Farmington because of the unique character of our town.  I value the small-town feel and sense of community that exudes in our town.  In particular, I want to keep the natural resources we have and protect our environment.  This is a legacy we need to preserve for future generations to enjoy.  I am very mindful that all we do in elected office should be with an appreciation for preserving these limited natural resources.

I’ve been raised to give back to the community that has given me so much.   I ask for your vote on November 5th to keep working on your behalf.  I pledge to continue to work hard for all the residents of Farmington.  For me, public service is an honor and I thank you for your support.
