Sawicki was a freshman at Farmington High School when I was a senior and was very involved in the high school's music program as a clarinet player, pianist and singer. At Farmington, he played in the Wind Ensemble and jazz band/combo and was a member of the Chamber Singers and the esteemed Madrigal Singers. He continued studying music at Harvard. Now Sawicki has co-founded Opera Brittenica, a new Boston musical organization "devoted to exploring and performing the varied works of Benjamin Britten," according to an community board Imse posted on Patch. Congratulations, David!
