Construction on the first Mormon temple in Connecticut starts this weekend in Farmington. Read on to find out about other notable Farmington news, events, and blogs.

Happy Thursday, Farmington!

You know what today means? It's almost the weekend, so I'm going to share some news and events happening today or over the next few days that you might want to know about.

But first, I just wanted to say that it humbles me to have the honor of covering my hometown. You know a lot about a town by living there, but reporting on it brings a whole new level of understanding about what makes the community work. I already know many of you and I'm getting to know many others.

So, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being you. For being Farmington.

Okay, now for the notable news, events and blogs of the day and weekend.
