Please Take a Moment of Silence for Christopher May

The family of Christopher May will receive friends tonight at the wake. Keep reading for more information and other recent news in Farmington and the area.

Good morning, Farmington.

It's been a busy week for a number of reason, chalk full of news.

But before you start another hectic day of work, getting the kids ready for school or whatever else you have going on, I'd like to ask everyone reading to pause for a little while. Please take a moment of silence for Chris May.

My thoughts are with the family and I wish them my deepest sympathies.

Whether you knew him as the freshman member of the Avon Town Council, your longtime dentist, your Cub Scout leader, your coach, your teacher, your friend, a fellow churchgoer or as a loving husband and father, please share your fond memories of him and condolences in the comments (and if you do, please be respectful).

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at  the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center at 301 Country Club Road in Avon.

His funeral will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Valley Community Baptist Church on 580 West Avon Rd. in Avon.

In other news, congratulations to former Farmington Valley Mudhog Mike Golic Jr. of Avon for being signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers

Farmington schools are back in sessions and you know what that means. Yes, an earlier morning and packing brown bag lunches. But Farmington schools are also implementing its first phase of security upgrades.

Tunxis Community College also recently expanded its classroom building in a $12.6 million project.

Whether today is a day of mourning, celebration, school or just a normal day in the middle of the week, Farmington Patch wishes you all the best. See you again tomorrow!
