The 50th Annual St. James Parish Rummage Sale has become a must-attend event for choosy bargain hunters in the Farmington Valley.
St. James Parish was founded 140 years ago and is now a flourishing part of the Farmington community. St. James has several missions, all dedicated to serving the local community as well as other causes throughout the Americas. Proceeds of the sale support our outreach projects.
The Rummage Sale features terrific “finds” at bargain prices, some with original sales tags still attached.
The sale includes clothes for men, women, teens, children, and infants; there is almost always some vintage clothing. There is always an excellent selection of footwear and other clothing accessories. Other items are linens, housewares, china, glass, pottery, and various kitchen items and small appliances, as well as holiday ornaments and trimmings.
The sale always includes several spectacular finds — such as small furniture. In the past, we have seen complete famous-maker patio sets; chandeliers; as well as other surprises.
There is a separate area dedicated to small children and babies’ clothes. There is also a Boutique that features high-end women’s clothing, suits, dresses, evening wear, handbags, and accessories. The boutique is also where you will find special treasures, such as silver, tea sets, miniatures, costume jewelry, and the unusual.
