Farmington Girls 8th Grade Travel Basketball team Wins Thanksgiving Tournament

The Farmington Girls 8th Grade Travel Basketball team were named the 2012 Champions of the 2012 Turkey Shootout tournament this past weekend. The team was awarded the tournament trophy Sunday night at the Valley Sports Center after defeating Windor Locks 44-11, Bristol 41-27, Suffield 47-35 and Canton 45-15 in weekend competition while scoring at least 41 points in each game. The team is pictured from l-r Coach Chris Ramsay, Julia Borgida, Julia Harrell, Cailin Cruess, Mary Schoenherr, Maddy Chagnon, Tara O' Coin, Mandy James, Erika Szydlik and Todd Thiesfeldt. Not pictured are team members Clare Meehan and Dana Thiesfeldt. The tournament was held at area schools and was sponsored by the Valley Sports Center of Canton.
