Local Taekwondo Students Win Medals at Junior Olympics

Ten Area Students Bring Home 16 Medals From 2012 USA Taekwondo National Championships (Junior Olympics)

Ten students from Avon, Canton, Unionville, Barkhamsted, Rocky Hill and Cheshire and Durham proved they were
among the top youth taekwondo athletes in the nation at the 2012 USAT National Championships, held June 29-July 4 in Dallas, Texas. The students won a total of 16 medals, in sparring, forms and breaking competitions for their age and belt. The ten medal winning athletes, all students at Olympic Taekwondo Academies in Unionville and Rocky Hill, competed with six others as part of Team Light of the World, coached by Masters: Kiye Cho, Taewoo Lee, Jonguk Jang, Kwangsoon Park, and Sunmi Jung.
