Farmington Exchange Club collects infant supply donation s for Parent & Child Center at Bristol Hospital

This past Saturday, October 26, the Exchange Club of Farmington collected infant supply donations for the Parent & Child Center at Bristol Hospital. Farmington Exchange Club members greeted shoppers at Highland Park Market and Stop & Shop with a list of infant supplies that the Parent & Child Center was in need of. Shoppers graciously purchased the infant supplies as part of their regular grocery shopping and presented the items to Farmington Exchange Club members. Bill Baker, chairperson of the Exchange Club community service event noted, “It very uplifting on how people were so generous purchasing and then donating items including baby formula, food, diapers, and shampoo needed to support the Center’s mission.”

During the event, some people asked “so what is Exchange?” Since 1928, the Farmington Exchange Club, a volunteer service organization of men and women, has been involved in charitable activities to make the Farmington community a better places to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities, and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse. Club members are dedicated to making our community a better place for all.

In advancing the Exchange Club’s national project locally, the Farmington Exchange supports the Parent and Child Center at Bristol Hospital in accomplishing its mission of promoting and supporting healthy families through education and resources that help them understand how to work together to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children to live and grow. The Parent and Child Center offers programs designed to target several areas that have been identified as crucial to developing strong, nurturing families such as stress and anger management, family finances, child development, communication skills, effective discipline, and planning and decision-making skills.
