Farmington Land Trust Distributes Town Wide Survey

With a community-wide survey published this week, the Farmington Land Trust is looking for feedback and opinions from town residents.  This is one component of a much larger initiative for the Land Trust as we work to establish our strategic direction for the next 10 years.

The survey is available online at:  http://bit.ly/13wv1Lh.  Hard copies are also available at the following locations around town: the Community Center on New Britain Avenue, the Farmington Main Library on Monteith Drive, Farmington Town Hall, and the Stanley Whitman House, Information Center.

“The primary purpose for conducting the survey,” according to Doug Pelham, Land Trust President, “is to help guide the development of a new strategic plan.  The last strategic plan was written in 2003, and much growth and change occurred during that period.  It is time to regroup and create a vision for the next decade."

Thanks to a grant from The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Farmington Land Trust was able to hire Carolyn Hughes of the Intent Design Group to lead the planning effort.

“The survey will help us identify where the Land Trust is doing a good job and where it needs to improve," said Tina Delaney, Executive Director of the Land Trust.  "With this information we can identify new opportunities, address areas of concern, and develop action plans."

Individual responses to the survey are confidential, and responses will be aggregated in the final report.
