AFSCME Local 1689 Supports Residents in Need

Members of AFSCME Local 1689, the union representing Farmington public service workers, are stepping up to help residents in need with donations to the Farmington Police Toy Drive (which supports the Community & Social Services Department) as well as to the Farmington Food Pantry and Farmington Fuel Bank.

“We’re proud to serve the people of Farmington,” Litchfield said. “We also recognize it’s important to help people in our own community who are having a difficult time meeting their basic needs, especially during the holiday season.”

AFSCME Local 1689 represents 73 town employees who work in Town Hall, the Parks Department, the Highway Department, the Police Department, Westwoods Golf Course and the Water Pollution Control Plant.
