Farmington's Brett Morris Named First Game Innovators Scholarship Winner from GSN Games

GSN Games, a leading provider of cross-platform entertainment, today announced that Brett Morris, a Rochester Institute of Technology student, has been named the winner of its first-ever $2,500 Game Innovators Scholarship. The scholarship program was established to foster the next generation of games industry leaders. 

Morris, a sophomore majoring in game design and development, was selected as the scholarship recipient based on his passion for games, academic standing and vision for a future career in the games industry. Morris plans to become a game designer to provide innovative entertainment to players around the world.

"I am incredibly honored to have been chosen as the recipient of the first-ever Game Innovators Scholarship from GSN Games," said Morris. "This scholarship is a supportive step along my path to making creative games that inspire new ways of thinking and deliver entertaining experiences to players worldwide, and I appreciate it so much."

Scholarship applicants were required to submit an official academic transcript and an original essay that describes how they plan to drive innovation in the games industry. Submissions from students representing dozens of colleges nationwide were reviewed by a panel of GSN Games judges.

"Brett exemplified the key qualities of creativity and innovation, which are driving forces of our business, so we're thrilled to support him on his path toward a game design career," said Allison Rynak, VP of Marketing Communications, GSN Games. "We are encouraged by the positive response to our inaugural Game Innovators Scholarship and will continue investing in the next generation of games industry leaders with our next scholarship offering in the spring."
