Farmington's Jewel Headed to WPSL National Final Four

Farmington's Jewel Robinson (FHS '09) is headed to Sacramento, California with the New England Mutiny for the National Finals of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).  On Saturday, the New Enland Mutiny won the Eastern Conference Final over the ASA Chesapeake Charge 3-2 in the East Playoffs.  They are now in the Final Four for the WPSL National Championship.   Robinson, a Mutiny defender, and captain of the CCSU Blue Devils womens' soccer team will be joined by Niki Deiter, Mutiny goalkeeper and CCSU co-captain, and Tori Sousa, Mutiny forward.  All 3 were selected to play in the WPSL.

As announced on their home page, The New England Mutiny has been internationally recognized as one of the world's top women's soccer teams, and achieved its highest ranking at No. 14 in the world. In the United States, the team was spotlighted by Soccer America as one of the nation's top teams to watch.  The WPSL season runs from May 1st to August 1st, leaving enough time (two weeks on average) for their collegiate players to get ready for their respective preseasons.
