It’s Never Too Early to Learn About Art History!

Budding preschool artists at The Goddard School, located in Farmington, enjoyed learning from local artist, Catherine Elliot. Elliott, who lives in Simsbury, brought some of her own paintings to show the children. She spoke to them about being an artist and weaved in interesting information about color, light and emotion, encouraging them to look at the paintings from different perspectives.  Elliott shared her rendition of “Starry Night” comparing it with Van Gogh’s famous masterpiece, which the children were very familiar with as they have been learning about Art History this month. Presently, the preschoolers are working together to recreate their own masterpieces which will be auctioned off at The Goddard School Art Auction during the week of June 9th. All proceeds will be donated in support of the construction of the Live Fire Training Facility in Farmington.
