Intro To Sign Language (Gr. 2-4)
Wednesdays– October 2 through October 23– (4classes) 4:00-5:00PM
Fee: $40 EXCL students, $45 Non EXCL students
Students will learn the basics of American Sign Language including letters, numbers, and simple vocabulary which will enable them to understand the importance and significance of this language. Course fee includes “Learn to Sign the Fun Way.”
Big Friends, Little Friends (Gr. 2-4) *NEW
Building bridges between generations through art & story telling Thursdays– October 3 through November 14- (7 classes) 4:00-5:00PM
Students will be creating special arts & crafts projects as well as sharing stories through reading, read out louds, and acting out. Residents from Touchpoints of Farmington will be visiting the students two times to share in these activities. Our students will end the program with an included bus visit to the residents at Touchpoints and will bring items to share with all seniors and residents.
Ooey Gooey Fun (Gr. K-2)
Fridays– October 18 through November 8- (4 classes) 4:00-5:00PM
Children will enjoy getting messy with this class. Children will explore science by making many fun projects including gak, oobleck, playdough, and volcanoes!
Hartford Stage “Mini Production” (Gr. K-3)
Mondays– October 7 through December 9- (7 classes) no class 10/14, 11/11, and 11/18. 4:00-5:00PM
Hartford Stage will work with students to rehearse and perform their own short play to perform for families and friends. Throughout the process, students will learn the foundations of acting: building a character, practicing proper vocal and movement techniques and developing strong concentration and focus skills.
Math Busters (Gr. 3&4)
Wednesdays– October 23 through November 13 (4 classes) 4:00-5:00PM
Students will learn and practice math skills in an exciting fashion. They will have the chance to compete against each other to solve problems. There will also be an opportunity to use online math games to practice the learned skills.
Kids Can Cook! (Gr. 3&4)
Tuesdays– November 11 through December 17 (5 classes) no class 11/19. 4:00-5:00PM Fee: $55 Healthy eating habits can never start too early we invite students to join us for a afterschool cooking program that will encourage young chefs to develop their budding culinary skills through hands-on instruction in how to make easy, kid-friendly, and healthy snacks and meals! Course fee includes $5 food fee.
