Sound Body Choir vocal improv sessions to be held at Be.Yoga

A four-week series of the vocal improv experience “Sound Body Choir: Singing for Sound Bodies and Sound Minds” will be conducted at Be.Yoga, 17 West Main St., Avon, beginning Wednesday, June 18 from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.

Led by recording artist Margo Hennebach, Sound Body Choir incorporates body awareness, movement and vocal improv. Sessions involve warming up the body to open the breath and joints, grounding the voice, and establishing a safe place from which to sing.

Hennebach is a classically trained pianist, has a graduate degree in Music Therapy, and has worked with such improv luminaries as Rhiannon and Bobby McFerrin. She is a touring musician and recording artist, and leads Sound Body Choir sessions in various venues. As a guild-certified Feldenkrais practitioner and teacher, Hennebach conducts private lessons and group trainings in her Sound Moves studio in Bloomfield.
