Katy Perry's new song, "Roar" has become a pump-up anthem for lifting the spirits and fighting through all obstacles to become a champion.

Now Avon fourth-grader Morgan Platt, who attends Roaring Brook Elementary School, and patients and staff at Connecticut Children's Medical Center have joined packs of people making music video versions of Perry's song that leave no doubt that you're gonna hear them roar.

The chorus of the song that plays frequently on the radio goes like this: "I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire/Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar/Louder, louder than a lion/Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar."

Platt, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June 2011, takes on the Katy Perry role as the main person featured lip syncing and dancing to "Roar." Fellow patients at CCMC and staff join her as the song takes you through a colorful montage within the hospital that shows the joy and hope that the children have despite battling cancer.

The video is intended to raise awareness about cancer, the Platts told NBC Connecticut and WFSB
