New Horizons Receives Gift from Valley Collector Car Club

Local nonprofit among many recipients of club's generosity.

On Friday, December 14, 2012 Rick Walker, Secretary and Peter Rocco, Public Relations of the Valley Collector Car Club, Inc. presented New Horizons Village with a $480.00 donation. Each year the Valley Collector Car Club selects recipient charities to receive the proceeds of the clubs fundraising efforts through Annual Charity Benefit Car Show. Always held on the second Sunday in July, the show features 450 classic, street rod and custom cars on Iron Horse Boulevard, in downtown Simsbury.

This year New Horizons is proud to be one of the 18 state and local charities to receive a check from the Club.  New Horizons is particularly thankful to Rick Walker, Club Secretary for nominating New Horizons to the general membership. Rick has been a friend to New Horizons for a great many years participating in our annual Strawberry Festival Car Show and having brought St. Ann’s Cares Day here to New Horizons also.

New Horizons will add the funds received to our recent fundraising efforts with the Hartford ING Marathon. These funds will be used for new rehabilitative medical equipment that will benefit members from both the Village and Cherry Brook Health Care Center, our non-for-profit nursing home.
