Rowling's first adult novel, "The Casual Vacancy" will be released in 2012, Little Brown announces.

Harry Potter fans, rest assured, J.K. Rowling is not done with writing books.

As a million beta users are testing out Rowling's interactive website and others wait for it to open to everyone else in order to extend the Harry Potter experience, Little Brown Book Group recently announced on its website that Rowling is releasing another book in September 2012.

This one is her first book for adults and it's called The Casual Vacancy.

Is it a prequel to the Hogwarts years or a story set years after the era of He Who Must Not Be Named? Sorry, no.

The next book is an entirely different story, completely different characters and does not revolve around magic, wizards and witches or mystical creatures.

Yet the dark comedy and mystery remain.

When a parish councilman in a seemingly quiet, small town called Pagford dies in his early 40s, the residents are stunned and "wars" brewing beneath the surface in various facets of the community start to come to a head, according to the book description on Little Brown's website.

Rowling announced she was writing a new book in February, according to The Huffington Post.

Okay, so it's not a continuation of the Harry Potter series, but are you excited Rowling is releasing another book? Will you be lining up for its release?
