Veteran Skeels to Give First-Person Account of Vietnam Jungle War

Bob Skeels, of Simsbury, was a Marine Corps lieutenant in the Vietnam War. His talk starts at 1 p.m. at the Avon Free Public Library.

A Simsbury resident who lived the DMZ Vietnam jungle war in 1968 as a Marine Corps lieutenant will give a talk on his experience on Saturday.

Bob Skeels' presentation on the Vietnam Jungle War is part of a series that Avon's VFW Post 3272 is offering in collaboration with the Avon Free Public Library. 

Skeels was a leader in infantry rifle and tank platoons during Vietnam. 

Members of the public, including students and families, are invited to attend the free program and no registration is required.
