Creative Christmas Trees Fill Unionville Museum

Local businesses, schools and Scouts decorate themed trees for holiday exhibit.

Unionville Museum always does something special for its holiday exhibit but this year it got a lot of help. The Yuletide in Unionville exhibit, opening Dec. 3 with Jingle Bell Jubilee, is a collection of Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and organizations. The exhibit features 17 trees.

The museum's tree follows the theme of the feathered nest. Bird houses, uniquely painted by local artists hang all over the tree, along with a few birds. All the bird houses have been donated by the artists and will be auctioned beginning Dec. 3. The auction will be silent and anonymous. It runs through Dec. 18.

"It's amazing how creative people can be when you give them a theme and they can run with it," said Patty LeBouthillier, a museum board member organizing the exhibit.
