A Journey Through Latin American Music

Tunxis Community College will host “A Journey Through Latin American Music,” a concert performed by Latin Spirits on January 27 at 7 p.m. in the Tunxis Cyber Café. The performance is free and open to the public.

The program includes Latin American folk songs from the ensemble’s repertoire performed by Gonzalo Cortés on flute, with Lorena Garay, guitar; and Jessica Heller, viola. The performance will feature songs from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela, with a number of other instruments including sikus, quena, charango, cuatro venezolano, and percussion.

Cortés, Garay and Heller have performed in theaters throughout South America, Europe and the rest of the world.
