“I Was a Male War Bride” (1949) French Army officer Cary Grant and American WAC officer Ann Sheridan decide to get married in Europe after a stormy courtship, but the only way Cary can get into the U.S. and avoid red tape is pose as a war bride, donning a wig and WAC uniform. Hilarious cross-dressing shenanigans ensue in Howard Hawks' screwball farce. William Neff and Marion Marshall co-star. 103 min.
