The Women (1939) Clare Booth Luce's celebrated play receives a sterling treatment from director George Cukor and an all-star cast. Soap opera and screwball comedy collide when Norma Shearer finds her marriage in trouble when Joan Crawford gets friendly with her man, while scandal maven Rosalind Russell spreads the word.
