Janice Nowinkski and Kyle Staver Art Exhibit at Miss Porter's School

Artists Janice Nowinski and Kyle Staver will display their work in the Gilbert Gallery at Miss Porter’s School from May 1 through 31. Ms. Nowinski and Ms. Staver will show their collections of paintings, etchings, linecuts, and drypoints. The Gilbert Gallery is located at 60 Main Street, Farmington. Visitors should check in with the receptionist before proceeding to the exhibit. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Ms. Nowinski has a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Yale University. She has served as Visiting Artist and Critic at the University of New Hampshire (2010); Adjunct Professor at Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus (2008); Visiting Critic at Sarah Lawrence College (1995-1996); and Visiting Artist at Parsons School of Design, Graduate Art Program (1993). She has had solo exhibitions at the Bowery Gallery (New York) in 2009, 2006, 2004, 2001, and 1999. Ms. Nowinski is affiliated with the Bowery Gallery and Zeuxis, An Association of Still Life Painters.

Ms. Staver has a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Yale University and was the recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award in 2003 and the Benjamin Altman Figure Prize from the National Academy Museum in 1996 and 1998. Her recent solo exhibitions include the Lohin-Geduld Gallery (New York) in 2006, 2007, and 2010; the Denise Bibro Gallery (New York) in 2003); Maurice Arlos Fine Arts (New York) in 2002; and the Hackett-Freedman Gallery (San Francisco) in 2001. Ms. Staver is represented by the Lohin-Geduld Gallery.
