PRINT EXHIBITION- Wonders Revealed: Rarely Seen Original Prints from Hill-Stead's Collection

Hill-Stead Museum presents, for the first time, a comprehensive look at the prints in its world-class collection. Enjoy an opportunity to examine works rarely shown to the public, but also to experience the prints on permanent view. Highlights include selections from The Disasters of War by Francisco Goya; Vingt Dessins, a limited edition portfolio of heliograph prints made from drawings by Edgar Degas, hand-selected by the artist for the portfolio; lithographs and woodblock prints by William Nicholson and original Japanese woodblock prints by Harunobu, Utamaro, Hokusai and others. Also revealed will be a new scholarship about Alfred Pope's impressive mezzotint collection. The exhibition is on view during regular museum hours; specialized exhibition tours will be offered January 11, 14, 25 and 28 (Wednesdays & Sundays) at 1 pm. Free to members or with museum admission. Hill-Stead Museum is CLOSED on Mondays.
