Bristol Man Dead After Car Runs Off Road, Rams Farmington Country Club

Police say the man ran off the road and embedded his car in the Farmington Country Club building early Sunday morning.

A Bristol man is dead and his passenger is in the hospital after the car he was driving went off the road early Sunday morning and smashed into the Farmington Country Club Building at 806 Farmington Ave.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Farmington Avenue and Waterville Road at 3:36 a.m. Sunday. When they got there, they found Thaddeus L. Singleton III, 33, of Bristol, and a female passenger trapped in the vehicle, which was in the country club building and suspended five feet off the ground.

The car severed gas and water lines upon impact, and both Farmington Avenue and Waterville Road were closed for several hours (but have since reopened).

Singleton was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital with unspecified injuries.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad (NCMARS) is investigating the accident. Police are asking anyone with more information regarding the accident to call the Farmington Police Department at 860-675-2400. The case number is 13-11720.
