Connecticut, Farmington Gas Prices Fall; Even Lower Prices Predicted

GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan said that gas prices will probably continue to decrease in Connecticut in the near future.

There's good news at the gas pump! Connecticut's average gas price per gallon has fallen two cents this week, settling at $3.94 per gallon as of Sunday, according to GasBuddy.com.

But local prices looked even lower Tuesday, according to reports on GasBuddy. Stations across town show a concentration of prices between $3.83 to $3.87 a gallon, with a few higher outliers (though this Patch editor paid $3.89 in Unionville).

And GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan added that drivers will probably see prices fall even further in the near future.

"Gasoline prices have continued to remain relatively stable in the last week, falling a few cents per gallon, providing well needed relief to motorists," said DeHaan. "Perhaps more noteworthy, however, is the fact that current average gasoline prices have now fallen under their year ago levels. And perhaps the best news is that the national average will likely continue to decline in most areas east of the Rockies in the week ahead as wholesale gasoline prices have given up ground," DeHaan said.

A year ago, Connecticut's gas prices were an average of 3.7 cents higher, according to a GasBuddy.com press release. Nationally, the average price of gas as of Sunday was $3.70 per gallon, a decrease of 2.8 cents from last week and 0.7 cents from last year.
