The town is surveying locations other than 598 Plainville Avenue, the site New Cingular initially proposed that might have "far less negative impact on the surrounding residential zones, the minutes state. Possible alternate sites include Town Forest and "open space conveyed to the Town located to the rear of Autumn Estates." While the state's Siting Council has jurisdiction on cell phone towers and no application has been formally submitted, the town is asking the AT&T cell phone company to work with officials to find a better spot for the project.
  • The commission approved a Farmington resident's proposal to raise six hens at 60 Lake Garda Dr.
