Farmington Valley Undergoes Burgerfication with New Restaurant

Article written and reported by Jessie Sawyer.

The line at a new Avon burger joint stretches to the back of the restaurant most Friday nights but moves quickly as locals continue to check out the new Avon Marketplace restaurant.

BurgerFi, which stands for "burgerfication," according to its website, recently opened next to the West Simsbury TCBY.

Patrons can sit at small four-person tables or mingle among strangers at one of the two long tables in the center. Take-out is also an option.

The restaurant features all-natural Angus beef burgers, as well as hot dogs, vegetarian options, fries, shakes, frozen custard, cupcakes, ice cream and concretes (cake layered with custard).

The thin burgers come double-stacked unless you order certain specials. For instance, the B.A.D. (Breakfast All Day) Burger includes a hash brown patty, a burger patty smothered in American cheese, a fried egg and hickory bacon drizzled with maple syrup and sandwiched in a BurgerFi-stamped bun.

Regulars can also order off of a "secret" menu that is not on the restaurant's vibrant flatscreen menus and is available by memory.

Burgers range from $5.57 to $9.97. and hot dogs run from $3.97 to $4.97, not including extra toppings.

You can view the menu by clicking on the link provided.

BurgerFi is located at 380 West Main St., site B3, in Avon. More information is available by calling 860-217-1403 or visiting the website, burgerfi.com. Burgers can also be ordered online. The burger joint, which is on Twitter (@Burgerfi) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/BurgerFi), also has a blog.

According to the website, BurgerFi is also planning to open another Connecticut location soon in Manchester at 1062 Tolland Turnpike.
