CUTTERS’ EDGE SALON IN ROCKY HILL CELEBRATES 20 YEARS
A Unique School of Thought Leads to Longevity and Success in a Crowded Industry
Cutters’ Edge Salon on the Silas Deane Highway in Rocky Hill has lots to celebrate this November – mainly its twentieth anniversary.
Owner Rosetta Fraleigh bought Cutters’ Edge Salon twenty years ago this November.  With a passion for making people look and feel good and a business background it’s no surprise that twenty years later Rosetta has established her business as one of Connecticut River Valley’s premier salons.
If you have a stylist you’re loyal to, you probably follow them from salon to salon to salon.  Some salon owners find it advantageous to acquire established stylists with large books of clientele.  But this bustling salon isn’t like other salons; Cutters’ Edge has a different philosophy.  Cutters’ Edge Salon ensures and maintains quality control by hiring stylists fresh out of school and organically fostering their growth in-house.  This school of thought is virtually unheard of in the industry.  But it works for Cutters’ Edge Salon and it works well.
The stylists enter the salon as an assistant and undergo a rigorous year long training program beside Rosetta.  But the training doesn’t end after a year.  Consistent monthly education programs are held with top hair care specialists in the industry, which means the stylists are always learning the latest techniques.
All of the stylists at Cutters’ Edge Salon are all full-time which means being a hairdresser isn’t just a past time– it’s a career and lifestyle.  Full-time also means everyone has benefits.  Rosetta believes it’s important to teach her stylists business skills.  Along with working with them to set goals and strategies to accomplish goals, she has the company financial advisor annually meet with each stylist.
Giving back to the community is a priority of the Cutters’ Edge team.  Each June they host a Cut-A-Thon to benefit The Wounded Warrior Project and each Holiday season they are a drop off location for Toys-for-Tots.  Along with making numerous donations to a variety of local organizations these are just one of the many ways Cutters’ Edge gives back.
While other salons come and go, Cutters’ Edge Salon’s unique business approach has proven to be quite the success.  The team is so very grateful for the continued loyalty and support of their clients, which makes celebrating this milestone possible.  Clients and friends of Cutters’ Edge Salon can expect a full year of festivities.  “If you look good, we look good and we’re all about looking good” is the Cutters’ Edge mantra.  And the Cutters’ Edge team sure has a lot to feel good about this November as they begin their 20th Anniversary.
