Farmington Resident and New Britain Executive Shares How Executive On-boarding Attracts and Retains Talent

Do you have senior-level employees who are new to the area or have just been promoted?  Could you or your employees benefit from a deeper connection to your organization and the community?

Carl Ficks, Jr. Esq., Vice President, Corporate & Donor Relations, Hospital for Special Care Foundation, Inc., and long-time Hartford County resident, participated in Leadership Greater Hartford's Executive Orientation Program when he was new to his position at the Hospital for Special Care.

Ficks shares, "I have lived in Hartford County for 40 years. I worked in downtown Hartford for 13 years. I thought I had a solid grasp on what Hartford was about and what it offered. I was wrong. I have learned an incredible amount in six weeks. It's as if I've discovered a new city. This has been a transformative experience."

The Executive Orientation Program is a six-session program designed for senior-level executives who are relatively new to the community, their jobs, or who, in general, would benefit from a deeper connection to Hartford’s issues, institutions, and leadership.  Participants meet the region's influential leaders and discover places that make Greater Hartford an amazing place to live, work and play.  Executives receive a quick, in-depth understanding of the key players and discover ways they can feel at home, develop roots, and become actively involved in the Greater Hartford community.

Leadership Greater Hartford is accepting applications now for the 2014 Executive Orientation Program that begins in early September.  Please visit  https://www.leadershipgh.org/programs/adult-programs/executive-orientation.html or contact Katy Bannister at katy.bannister@leadershipgh.org for more information.
