Simsbury Bank Named "Top Workplace"

SIMSBURY, CT – September 16, 2013 – Simsbury Bank is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of The Hartford Courant and FOXCT Top Workplaces.

The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement.

Over the past decade, Simsbury Bank has blended the spirit of community banking with the convenience of the modern megabanks, resulting in a growing institution where customers are free to bank when, where, and how they choose, and can feel confident in the quality of services and products offered. The Bank was founded in 1995 as an independent alternative and has grown to be one of the largest independent community banks in the towns they serve which are Simsbury, Avon, Bloomfield and Granby.

“We learned very early on in our banking careers that hiring talented and dedicated employees would foster good customer service, and result in loyal and satisfied customers, who truly appreciate what Simsbury Bank has to offer.  We are fortunate to have a very talented and experienced staff that deserves this recognition,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Martin Geitz.

Based upon the Top Workplaces Survey, Simsbury Bank employees noted how they felt genuinely appreciated at work, that their job allows them to be part of something meaningful, and that they feel confident about their future. Employees also feel well-informed about important workplace decisions, believe that tasks are taken on in an efficient manner, and feel that new ideas are strongly encouraged. The survey revealed how managers care about workplace concerns, assist employees with growth opportunities, and make it easier for employees to do their job well. Employees feel that their job at Simsbury Bank has met or exceeded their original expectations, are satisfied with the formal training program, have the flexibility needed to balance work and personal life, and rarely experience frustration in the workplace. Employees also believe that their pay is fair and that their benefits package is sound compared with others in the industry. Ultimately, employees are confident that Simsbury Bank is headed in the right direction and that the Bank is operated by a strong sense of workplace ethics and values under the leadership of their President and Chief Executive Officer, Martin Geitz and the Board of Directors.
