Dellaria Salons Host HAIRaising Benefit for Boston Children's Hospital $32,000 Raised

Boston - For the fourth year at top salons throughout New England, including all 25 of Dellaria Salons locations, the month of April was dedicated to HAIRraising for Boston Children’s Hospital. HAIRraising for Boston Children’s Hospital is founded by hair legend, John Frieda of John Frieda Hair Care and John Frieda Salons, and his business partner, Gail Federici. Participating salons go to all lengths for children by incorporating efforts such as raffles, bake sales and specially-priced spa services, and a culminating cut-a-thon on April 28th. Dellaria Salons incorporates as many tactics as possible for their clients to be involved with the fundraiser. “We start planning in January,” says Hayley Denker, Marketing Manager for Dellaria Salons. “Each salon is really so different, so customize the best way for each salon to hold its fundraiser. I really want the staff and clients to have fun, which is a key component in creating a positive environment for the cut-a-thon.”

Last year, Dellaria Salons raised $10,000 with their top fundraising salon located in Acton. “Last year we participated by hosting an 80’s theme day, which the staff really loved,” says manager Sheeva Vye. “This year we decided to show our spirit by wearing crazy socks!” In an additional effort to increase contributions this year, Denker & the team at Children’s came up with a “give back, get back” card, which rewarded anyone donating $5 or more with a $10 coupon off of a new service at the salon. “Our clients are really supportive and we realize they are the key component in making the fundraiser such a success. By implementing this program, we are showing our appreciation for their donations.” says Denker.

This year’s HAIRraising cut-a-thon held particular importance, occurring only 2 weeks after the Boston Marathon Bombings. After the tragedy, Boston Children’s Hospital decided that all funds raised in 2013 would be donated to the Emergency & Trauma fund at Boston Children’s Hospital, in honor of the dozen of children that were seen there. Dellaria Salons raised a total of $32,864.39 for HAIRaising this year. The collaboration between the staff and clients was unprecedented and they look forward to many more years of continual success.
