The Exchange Club of Farmington Fundraises for the Kids

The Exchange Club of Farmington focuses service programs in Americanism, Community Service, Youth activities and the organizations nation project in the Prevention of Child Abuse.

The Exchange Club of Farmington has been an active service organization in     Farmington since 1928 with its membership comprised of local residents and business owners that come together at monthly business meetings share ideas and camaraderie among the membership.

The club is part of the National Exchange Club whose national project is the Prevention of Child Abuse. The local Exchange Club of Farmington fundraises money during the year to support various programs the club sponsors like the Exchange Club Scholarship program for Farmington High School Seniors, the Exchange Club Phonebook Directory that the membership delivers to each Farmington residence that is supported by the local businesses that advertise in the publication, the Book of Golden Deeds Award presented to a citizen that has provide long standing service to the community and the Give a Kid a Flag to Wave program were the membership hands out flags at the Memorial Day Parades each year.

The club also supports other organizations in town that serve the community like the Farmington Food Pantry, Youth Drug & Alcohol Awareness programs sponsored by the Farmington Police Dept. and Farmington Public Schools, the local Boy & Girl Scout troops and many more good causes.

A great example of the clubs work can be seen in the recent Basketball Benefit game event that raised money for the school system and provided entertainment for the kids. Wednesday evening at Westwood School the teachers of IAR played the Westwood teachers in front of a packed gymnasium. The event was sponsored by the Exchange Club of Farmington to raise money for the Farmington Public Schools. Organizations like the Exchange Club of Farmington teach kids how they can be good citizens and contribute to their community and have fun with friends that last a life time.
