A Warm Day to Get a Tree Or Take a Tour

Stanley-Whitman offers candlelight tours, Library hosts Lotta Legos

We get a reprieve from the cold today with a high of 42 degrees and a good dose of sun. If there are outdoor activities that need doing, today is the day. The National Weather Service is predicting nearly an inch of snow for Sunday.

Borders is hosting a holiday event for children ages 3 to 8 at 11 a.m. The event is free and will include songs, games and stories.

Young builders are invited to play with Legos at the Farmington Library between 2 and 4 p.m. The event is for kids 6 and up.

Expectant moms are welcome to tour the facilities at UConn Health Center from 7 to 9 p.m. Tours are free and guided by a hospital representative.

The Stanley-Whitman House is hosting its signature event tonight, the Candlelight Tour. Costumed interpreters act the part of colonial people as they lead guests through the historic house. Hot chocolate, coffee, tea and holiday treats will be served in the Whitman Tavern after the tours.
