Christmas Tree Collection Started

Residents who have town trash collection service may place trees by the curb; those who do not can bring them to the compost area.

Christmas tree collection for Farmington residents started Tuesday and will continue for about two weeks, depending on the weather.

Residents who receive Town trash collection service may place their clean Christmas tree near the curb for the Highway and Grounds Division of Public Works to pick up on approximately the same days as trash collection.

Trees should be free from plastic bags, stands, lights, tinsel, ornaments and other items so that they may be safely chipped with no contaminents.

Residents who do not have Town trash collection can bring their Christmas tree to the Tunxis Mead Compost Area.
