Farmington: Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued

The National Weather Service expects snow Tuesday night and Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and a hazardous weather outlook for Northern Connecticut. And Farmington officials have issued a parking ban in anticipation.

Snow and rain are expected before 2 a.m., with a changeover to all snow in the morning. Accumulations are expected to be 2 to 4 inches, with more snow possible on Thursday.

"Accumulating snow will affect much of Southern New England very late tonight into mid afternoon Wednesday and the morning rush hour will be impacted," the weather service reported. School delays or cancellations are possible for Wednesday.

Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties were included in the winter weather advisory.

Though the snow accumulations may be small, the weather service urges motorists to be "especially careful on bridges and overpasses where slippery spots can easily develop."
