Green Dog Market Hosting Rescue Dog Adoption Event

Green Dog Market, a locally owned earth-friendly pet supply shop, will host an adoption event on April 28 for Double Dog Rescue in celebration of Earth Week.

Double Dog Rescue is a nonprofit organization founded in 2006 to help find homes for dogs otherwise destined to be euthanized. 

Green Dog Market owners Ann and Paul Fryer were inspired to help Double Dog after getting involved with the effort to help find one of the group’s rescue dogs, Sassy, who went missing shortly after an adoption event in late February. 

"We were so touched by the efforts of Double Dog and the everyday people who came together to help find this dog. With the timing of our store’s first anniversary, it seemed like we were destined to team up with this organization,” Paul Fryer said.

The Fryers find this cause close to their own hearts.  

"We rescued our dog, Chester, last year and can't imagine our family or store without him. We want to help raise awareness of how many homeless pets are in need."

The event will feature about 30 of Double Dog Rescue's adoptable dogs, dog treat tastings and a raffle for an eco-friendly 'new dog' care package.  

Green Dog Market is at 784 Farmington Ave., Farmington across from Bank of America, in front of the former Chuck's Steakhouse. The event will be April 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
