When Are Good Friday, Easter Weekend Services in Farmington?

Farmington churches are offering worship services on Good Friday and Easter weekend.

If you are looking to observe the season, here are some local services:

Good Friday, March 29

St. James Episcopal Church, 3 Mountain Road, Farmington: At noon, the annual ecumenical Good Friday service centered on the last seven words of Jesus will be hosted by the Farmington Clergy Association at St. James Episcopal Church. First Church of Christ Farmington and First Church of Christ Unionville will join with St. James.

St. Patrick Church, 110 Main St., Farmington: A faith walk at 10 a.m. will process around the Riverside Cemetery, beginning and ending at the church. Liturgy of the Passion of Christ 3 p.m., with sacred music beginning at 2:30 p.m.

St. Mary Star of the Sea, 145 Main St., Unionville: A celebration of the Lord's Passion will begin at 3 p.m. Stations of the Cross will be held at 7 p.m. St. Mary will join with St. Patrick in the faith walk at 10 a.m. 

Memorial United Methodist Church, 867 West Avon Road, Avon: The church will be open for prayer from noon to 3 p.m., "brief contemplative service marking the crucifixion" of Jesus Chris at 3 p.m. 

Holy Saturday, March 30

St. Patrick Church, 110 Main St., Farmington: Easter Blessing of the food will begin at 9 a.m. An Easter Vigil Mass will be held at 8 p.m.

St. Mary Star of the Sea, 145 Main St., Unionville: Confessions will be held from 10 - 11 a.m. Blessing of the food will be at 11:30 a.m. and an Easter Vigil will begin at 8 p.m. 

Easter Sunday, March 31

First Church of Christ Congregational 1652, 75 Main St., Farmington: A Sunrise Service will be held at 6 a.m. at the Hill-Stead Museum. First Church of Christ's confirmation class will lead this joyous service, welcoming the dawn of Easter. Dress casually, being prepared for the morning chill and wet grass. Please park in the paved lot behind the buildings.

First Church of Christ Congregational 1652, 75 Main St., Farmington: At 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., come and celebrate Christ’s resurrection with glorious music and a powerful message in the historic Meetinghouse transformed withEaster lilies. Worship is for all ages.  Childcare is available for children age 5 and under, or at parents’ discretion. There will be coffee hour after each service.

St. Patrick Church, 110 Main St., Farmington: Masses will be held at 7:30 a.m., 9 a.m., 10:30am, 12 noon with choir.

St. Mary Star of the Sea, 145 Main St., Unionville: Masses will be held at 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Memorial United Methodist Church, 867 West Avon Road, Avon: Easter Sunday worship at 8:30 a.m., breakfast in Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m., Easter lilies arrive at 10 a.m., Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m., family worship at 10:30 a.m.

First Church of Christ Congregational in Unionville, Main St., Unionville: Celebrate the resurrection at 10 a.m. Sunday School and Nursery will be held during worship. Following worship there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children on the front lawn.
