Republicans Elect New Officers

Bill Mastrogiovanni remains chair of town committee.

The Farmington Republican Town Committee elected a new slate of officers recently for a two-year term. William Mastrogiovanni, a local attorney at Scully, Nicksa and Reeve, retained chairmanship and attorney Christian Hoheb was elected vice chairman. Meredith Trimble, who was elected to the Board of Education in the November election, was named treasurer and Anna Avenoso, co-owner of Franklin Jewelers was elected secretary.

“I’m happy to be chairman again and I think, through lots of people’s hard work, we’ve done fairly well in recent elections,” Mastrogiovanni said. “Our focus has always been on getting good candidates to run for local offices by recruiting them, encouraging them and helping them get elected.”

Trimble and Hoheb are new to their positions, Mastrogiovanni said.

“Chris has been involved with the Republican Town Committee for a long time,” he said. “He’s like my right-hand man.”

And of Trimble, “Meredith has experience in state elections enforcement. We expect she will make a great addition."

The committee now turns its attention to the upcoming election season. So far, it has endorsed former Farmington Town Council chairman and Fifth U.S. Congressional District candidate Mike Clark.

“We should have an exciting year with the Fifth District Congressional race and presidential race and if Bill Wadsworth runs again, getting him reelected,” he said.
