Still 10 Customers in Farmington Without Power

CL&P say its now working to ensure there are no safety problems with system or trees.

On the company's last deadline, to restore power to everyone by Wednesday at midnight, CL&P failed by a hair. By this morning 148 customers remained without power in Connecticut. In Farmington, just 10.

The number is up from Wednesday, when CL&P reported under 50 outages in the state.

Many of them may be single-service outages, meaning power to the neighborhood has been restored but there are problems with an individual house. If that is the case for you, call CL&P at 800-286-2000.

And with the work of restoring power mostly behind it, CL&P said it is now double-checking to make sure electrical safety issues along its 17,000 miles of its overhead distribution system have been fixed. It reports crews are also working to identify storm-damaged trees in close proximity to CL&P equipment that could threaten public safety or the electrical system.
