2013 Water Ski Show and Extravaganza

The Rotary Club of New Britain-Berlin is sponsoring the 2013 Water Ski Show and Extravaganza featuring the Skiers’ Choice Championship at Batterson Park in Farmington on August 17 and 18.

The event will feature the Skiers’ Choice Championship with ski show teams from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and New Jersey. The teams will be judged by five judges in four categories: Most Entertaining, Best Pyramid, Best Yard Sale, and Overall Show. Spectators will also be invited to vote for best overall show.

In between competition shows, spectators will be treated to exhibition skiing. Nick Lyman and Jacqueline LeDoux from the Florida-based Legoland ski show team will be highlighted in the exhibition portion of the event. In addition, the first place winners of the USA Water Ski Eastern Regional Championships will be invited to perform. This will include ski jumping, slalom, trick skiing and more.

The Water Ski Show and Extravaganza was born out of the ideas that fundraising can and should be fun and should incorporate the larger community. The proceeds of this event will go to charitable, non-profit entities that provide needed service to others. In the past several years, the Club has focused on literacy and education initiatives, public safety, and support and advancement of persons with disabilities, to name a few.

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Rotary Club of New Britain-Berlin is one of 34,000 clubs around the world dedicated to this mission.
