Amistad Sunday Tour and Eccumenical Service

Starting at 1:00, see a presentation of
the Amistad story, and participate in a walking tour of the
Amistad and Underground Railroad sites in Farmington. Presented by the
Farmington Historical Society, the tour starts at Amistad Hall on the
campus of First Church of Christ, Congregational, 1652. There is a $5

At 3:00, come celebrate the power of the Amistad story
in our lives yesterday, today and into the future with an ecumenical Amistad Sunday
service featuring lively music and dance. Participating churches include
Amistad UCC, Faith Congregational, and Asylum Hill Congregational from Hartford;
Manantial de Gracia from New Britain; and is hosted by The First Church of
Christ, Congregational, 1652, Farmington. 
A reception in Amistad Hall will immediately follow the service.


The First Church of
Christ, Congregational, 1652, is located at 75 Main Street in Farmington, near
Miss Porter’s School.  Sunday services
are held at 10 a.m. For further information, call the church office at
860-677-2601 on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or view the website
