Director's College Event: Inside Nepal

On Wednesday, July 24, the Farmington Libraries welcome Hari Koirala, Professor and Chair of the Education Department at Eastern Connecticut State University to share a personal account of his upbringing in Nepal. This event will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Farmington Main Library at 6 Monteith Drive.

This summer, the Farmington Libraries has selected the book, Little Princes: One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal, by Conor Grennan as the title for our One Town, One Book program. The book is set in Humla, the most remote district in Nepal. Professor Hari Koirala is a Nepal native, and spent the most distinct experience of his life working in Humla for nine months under the National Development Service. Professor Koirala will not only share his experiences growing up in Nepal, but will also discuss the social and economic conditions he found in Humla and those which you will read about in Little Princes. We hope you will join us to learn more about the region and the setting for our One Book!

The Director’s College is an ongoing series at the Farmington Libraries, the aim of which is to present interesting and intellectual programs for our community.
