Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor invites you to practice your golf swing and sample ice cream specialties - including Banana Peel-Out, Classic Car-amel and Special Olym-pecan Sundaes – all to help out local Special Olympics athletes. The family owned and operated business will host a Dream Ride weekend August 23th through August 25th, to coincide with the Dream Ride charity motorcycle ride and car cruise presented by Bozzuto’s Inc. and The Hometown Foundation to benefit Special Olympics that will be rolling into town. Throughout the weekend – August 23rd to 25th, $1.00 of each entry fee to the golf course, between 9 a.m. and noon, will be donated to Special Olympics. And, Dream Ride-themed sundaes created to honor Special Olympics’ inspirational athletes of all abilities will be available for purchase. In addition to its fundraising efforts and exclusive ice cream offerings, Farmington Miniature Golf & Ice Cream Parlor will host a miniature golf and luncheon event for local Special Olympics athletes on Saturday, August 24th. About 100 athletes are expected to attend.
Dream Ride, an annual charity motorcycle ride, will also be held that weekend to unite thousands of motorcyclists from throughout Connecticut, as well as eleven other east coast states and Canada. Participants will come together at The Farmington Club in Farmington to enjoy the ride and camaraderie, celebrate the achievements of Special Olympics athletes and join in a movement that inspires respect and inclusion for people of all abilities. In addition to Dream Ride, owners of exotic and classic cars can participate in Dream Cruise, presented by
Papa's Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of New Britain. Dream Cruise allows drivers to join their motorcyclist friends on the road to support Special Olympics.
Everyone taking part in the ride and cruise will meet up at The Farmington Club in Farmington, Connecticut on August 25th, where spectators will also be welcome. When participants reach The Farmington Club, they will be greeted by Special Olympics athletes, enjoy a Black Angus strip steak and boneless chicken breast luncheon, and have the opportunity to stroll about the picturesque Farmington Club grounds, visit displays offered by leading industry vendors and listen to a great line-up of live bands.
