Blue Christmas Service

Blue Christmas Service, December 19, 7:00 pm

As Christmas music fills the air and lights twinkle in cozy homes, many are not able to experience the joy of this holy season. Loneliness, the loss of a loved one, or facing yet another Christmas without a job can be difficult. Perhaps the frenetic pace and rush of gift buying has one feeling depressed. The Blue Christmas service is for those who do not entirely feel the joy of the season and need to feel a deeper connection with God. It will be held in the music room at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, and led by Reverend Steven Savides.

Little did we know when we  scheduled it how pertinent this time of worship would be for our community. In light of the tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, this reflective service that includes beautiful readings, hymns, chants, Communion, and ample time for silent prayer is a place to find hope and healing as Christmas approaches. Please help us spread the word to anyone who may wish to come.

It's at First Church Congregational on Main Street (across from Miss Porters, in front of Noah Wallace).  It will be in the Music Room in Amistad Hall, not the main church building.
