Bound by Distance: Italian Migrations across Time in Contemporary Italian Fiction and Film

On Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., the Farmington Libraries will co-sponsor, along with Farmington UNICO, the event; “Bound by Distance: Italian Migrations across Time in Contemporary Italian Fiction and Film This program will be presented by Joshua King, who teaches at Trinity College.


Joshua King is a Ph.D. student in Italian Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Connecticut.  He is primarily interested in Contemporary Italian Literature and Cinema and his current research interests include the links between contemporary cultural production and migration in Italy.


He has spent time living in Bologna and has travelled extensively around the peninsula. His interested and experiences in Italy have given him a breadth of perspective regarding both his own culture, as well as those of Italy, for which he is grateful. In his classes he enjoys helping students develop ways of approaching Italian culture so they may begin to broaden their own perspectives in similar ways.
