Scouts from around Farmington have delivered bags to 7600 town homes for their annual Scouting for Food drive, benefiting the Farmington Food Pantry.
Boy Scouts from Troop 170 and 68, Cub Scouts from Packs 170 and 37, and Girl Scouts from 6 town Troops will return to pick up the bags on Saturday, November 10. Please place the bags by your mailbox by 9:00 AM. Residents of condominium complexes may leave the bags by their front door.
The Farmington Food Pantry is in need of toilet paper, paper towel, laundry soap, deodorant, diapers, juice boxes, crackers, snack packs, canned meats/fish, soup, baby formula, condiments, jelly, peanut butter, pasta & sauce, macaroni & cheese, shampoo, toothbrushes & toothpaste. All NON-PERISHABLE items are needed. All food items must have an expiration date of December 1, 2012 or beyond. The Food Pantry can not accept expired food. Cash donations are also welcome. Checks may be made payable to “Farmington Food Pantry.”
The Scouts are organizing a special collection for NEW mittens, gloves and hats for the homeless, and NEW twin sheets, and women’s and children’s NEW pajamas for battered women’s shelters in the Hartford Area.
